Employee Application – Task Dispatch Enhancements
This release introduces a redesigned Task Dispatch board to better manage your engineering workload. Task Dispatch now manages Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance tasks, and Inspections. Be sure to read about all of the new features in Task Dispatch, below:
Drag and drop a task from the Dispatch List to assign it to an employee. You can only assign to employees that are assignable and associated with the building.
Global Filters allow you to filter by building, task type, and engineers. Setup a custom query in seconds, and Save View so you can access it again:
Separate Dispatch and Engineer Filters apply just to their section. Free text filters find tasks by or engineers by Building name, Issue type, task title, Tenant company, Status, Priority level, Created date or Due date:
You will also notice Color Coded Rows on the new Task Dispatch. Employee rows alternate, white and gray. Vendor rows are purple, and out-of-office employees are orange.
Pro Tip: Use the filters to narrow your view so that unassignable people don’t clutter up your view!
Each row provides useful data about each employee’s current workload. The number of Work Orders, PMs, and Inspections currently assigned to the employee are shown on the blue buttons. Click to open the grid for that task filtered for that employee.
Normal work hours for the employee are also displayed, but do not restrict when you can assign.
Need more info? Try expanding task details! Each task tile can be expanded to view more details.
The Unassigned Tasks column can also be used to re-assign tasks already assigned to a user. This is useful if you assign PM tasks and Inspections to a Dispatcher, or when an engineer is out sick. Simply select the employee’s name in the Dispatch column:
Tips on using the new Task Dispatch:
- Task Dispatch and Dashboard Grids are good at different things:
- Dispatch is great for assigning work and managing workload
- Grids are great for bulk actions like closing out work orders for billing, and for exporting data
- Optimize performance by using Saved Views
- Try working with a few buildings at once
- So the data you need fits on a screen
