NEW Building Engines New Look Preview, Continued!
This month, we are continuing to roll out Building Engines’ new look across the application. Last month we introduced our new look preview for Work Order Create, Search and Edit (CLICK HERE to read release notes from last month). This month our preview expands to include the following pages:
- Tenant Company Search
- Tenant Company Edit
- Tenant Employee Search
- Tenant Employee Edit
- PM Task Search
- PM Task Edit
- Incident Search
- Incident Edit
- Access Card Manager
- Access Card Requests
- Property Removal Pass

To check out the new updates, click the “New Look” button in the navigation bar. For now, you may switch the preview on or off at any time. We expect to deliver the completely redesigned system in late winter/early spring, at which time we will permanently retire the old look. Stay tuned for updates each month.

NEW Feature: Affiliated Tenant Companies – Have tenant users who need to submit requests for multiple companies? Link their companies together as affiliates
- Set up Affiliates – From a Tenant Company record, navigate to the new Affiliates tab to add affiliated companies. Select companies within the same building or from other properties, and press SAVE to add them to the list of affiliated companies
- Link Tenant Users – To link only select tenant users to affiliated companies, navigate to their user profile and multi-select the companies they can access. To automatically link all tenant users with all affiliated companies, use the convenient “All Employees Have Access” toggle located on the Affiliates tab
- Submit Work Orders – When submitting a work order, a tenant with affiliated companies will notice their suite/floor dropdown contains all suites occupied by all of their affiliated companies
- Reporting/Billing – Work orders submitted for affiliated space will remain linked to the tenant’s primary company for the purpose of searching and billing
NEW Feature: Visitor Parking – Using Building Engines’ Visitor Control feature and need to track who requires parking? Visitor Parking Management is for you. To learn more about this feature or enable it for your building, contact your Client Success Manager today
- Tenants Register Visitors, Indicate Parking Preference – Tenants will notice a new option when registering visitors allowing them to indicate when their guests will be parking on premises
- Easily View Parking List – See visitors' parking information from the Expected Visitors page
- Export List for Reference – Search for visitors by parking preference and export the list to CSV, PDF or Excel for non-system users

- Work Order – Billable note updates will now save correctly in both the old and new look, and appear in all invoice reports
- Work Order – Recurring work orders can now be deleted in the new look
- Work Order – Work Orders printed from the new look will now display dates in MM/DD/YYYY format
- Work Order – Sorting in date columns will now sort by time as well as date
- Work Order - .msg files will now be accepted in document uploads
- Tenant Satisfaction – Comments will now be required for tenants submitting dissatisfied ratings
- Visitor Control – Visitor notes will now be included in visitor check in notifications
- Inspections – Work orders created from Tenant Inspections will now default to self-reported
- Inspections – Work Orders created from an inspection can now be assigned to the inspector
- Reports – The Time Tracking Hours by Date (Employee) report can now be run for multiple buildings
